What CapyParse does better

Pay once, with no subscription

Their credit packs run from $5 for 20 pages to $99 for 750, are bought once, and stay valid for a year. Their homepage also converts up to 6 pages a day with no sign-up. Our page packs top up a paid plan, and every upload here needs an account, so for one statement a year their route is simpler.

An API and an MCP server, today

Their developer page documents a REST API (start a conversion, poll it, fetch the result as JSON, CSV, Markdown or JSONL) at one credit per page, shared with the app, plus an MCP server so an AI assistant can call it. We have no API. If conversion has to run inside your own software or agent, they have the answer and we do not.

Scans and phone photos, in batches on Firm

Their pages say built-in OCR reads paper statements and phone photos, and their Firm plan lists batch scan and export across statements. We read scanned PDFs one at a time, accept PDFs only, and batch digital statements. A stack of photographed statements suits their product better than ours.

Categorization and cloud import

Their converter page says transactions are categorized automatically, and their Custom plan lists auto-import from Google Drive, OneDrive and Outlook plus ERP connectors. We let you label rows in bulk but do not categorize automatically, and nothing is imported for you.

Where we differ

A lower price per page

Their Starter is $29 a month for 150 pages, about $0.19 a page ($0.16 billed yearly); ours is $15 for 300, $0.05. Their Firm is $79 for 600, about $0.13; our Professional is $39 for 900, about $0.043. Their FAQ also says a 5-page statement uses 5 pages, while here a page counts only when it carries at least one transaction.

More formats on standard plans

Their pricing page lists CSV, Excel and QBO on Starter and Firm, with all formats on Custom (their homepage also names OFX and QFX). Here Starter exports Excel, CSV, QBO, QFX, OFX and QIF, and Professional adds IIF for QuickBooks Desktop and Tally XML.

Send to QuickBooks Online

Their converter page describes a QuickBooks-compatible export file. On our paid plans a reviewed statement can also be sent to a QuickBooks Online bank or card account, landing as posted transactions, with each row reported as sent, already sent or failed, and repeats skipped.

Digital statements read in your browser

Their privacy policy lists Google, Microsoft Azure, Mistral AI and Anthropic among the services that process uploaded documents, and keeps active users’ data until deletion is requested. Here a digital PDF is read in your browser. Only a scan goes to a vision model, sent with data collection denied, and the workspace sets retention, from nothing stored up to a year.

Each row tied to its line on the page

We both check statements against their balances: their homepage describes opening, deposits and withdrawals adding to the closing balance, plus running balances and printed totals. Their converter page shows the PDF side by side. Here clicking any row highlights its line on the PDF, and a failed check shows the dollar gap at the row where it starts.

The thing we cannot offer

We are new. DocuClipper, MoneyThumb and ProperSoft have been doing this for years and have the reviews to show for it; we do not. What we can offer instead of a track record is a product that checks its own work in the open — every row tested against the statement’s balance, the source line one click away — and that tells you when it is unsure rather than presenting every conversion as finished.

FAQ

VouchRow vs CapyParse: questions

How much does CapyParse cost?

Their pricing page lists Starter at $29 a month or $290 a year for 150 pages, and Firm at $79 a month or $790 a year for 600 pages, with a Custom tier on request. Credit packs run from $5 for 20 pages to $99 for 750, valid for a year, and a free account includes 10 pages. Their converter page mentions plans from $8 a month, which the pricing page does not show, so check with them.

CapyParse vs VouchRow: which is cheaper?

On subscriptions we are, at about $0.05 a page on Starter against their $0.16 to $0.19. For a single statement once a year, one of their small credit packs can cost less than any monthly plan, ours included, so a CapyParse alternative only saves money if you convert every month.

Does CapyParse check balances?

Their homepage says every transaction is either proven by the statement’s balances or flagged for review, and that running balances and printed totals are checked. We check the same kinds of totals. Neither of us can tell you which is more accurate without both being run on your statements; we have not tested theirs.

Does CapyParse have an API?

Yes. Their developer page documents a REST API and an MCP server, with files up to 75 pages and 50 MB, at one credit per page. VouchRow has no API.

Where does CapyParse process my statement?

Their privacy policy names Google, Microsoft Azure, Mistral AI and Anthropic as services that process uploaded documents, and Supabase for storage. It says active users’ data is stored until they request deletion, and accounts inactive for two years are deleted. Documents can also be deleted from the dashboard.

Can CapyParse send transactions to QuickBooks?

Their converter page describes a QuickBooks-compatible export, and their homepage lists QuickBooks integration on Starter without saying more. We found no description of posting straight into QuickBooks Online. VouchRow does that on paid plans, as posted transactions rather than in For Review.

What is the best CapyParse alternative?

It depends on why you are looking. For a lower price per page, more import formats and a QuickBooks Online send, a converter like ours. If the API or scan batches are what you use CapyParse for, staying may be the better call.

How this page was researched

Everything here about other tools was read from their own public pricing, product and help pages in October 2026. We did not create accounts, so nothing on this page claims anything about their accuracy, their output quality or their support — only about what they publish.
