Bank statement converter for accountants & bookkeepers
The bank statement converter that checks every row
Convert PDF bank and credit card statements, digital or scanned, into Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero and Tally files. Every transaction is checked against the running balance and linked to the exact line on the PDF, so a misread number shows up before it reaches your books.

Why converting statements goes wrong
Copying a PDF statement into Excel breaks in quiet ways
The errors are not the obvious kind. Every row looks fine, the file imports, and the mistake surfaces at reconciliation, or never. These are the four that cost the most time.
Copy-paste splits one transaction across three rows
Wrapped descriptions are merged back onto the transaction they belong to.
Dates arrive without a year, or day and month swapped
Date order is decided once per statement, and the year is carried across December.
One misread digit, found three weeks later
The running balance is checked on every row, so the wrong one is named before export.
QuickBooks refuses the file you made
QBO files carry a real bank ID and stable transaction IDs, so imports go through and re-imports do not duplicate.
How it works
From PDF statement to import-ready file in three steps
Upload, check, export. The checking step is the one other converters skip, and the reason the file you import is the file the bank printed.
- 1
Upload your statements
Drop in PDF bank or credit card statements. Digital statements upload in a batch; scanned ones are read with OCR.
- 2
Every row is checked
Each transaction is tested against the running balance, page subtotals and printed totals. A break names the exact row.
- 3
Export to your software
Download Excel, CSV, QBO, QFX, OFX, QIF, IIF or Tally XML, with a reconciliation report in every export.
Reconciliation on every statement
A wrong digit gets caught on its row, not three weeks later
Most converters compare the opening and closing balance and stop there, which tells you the statement is off, not where. VouchRow checks the running balance on every row, so a transposed digit is named on the row it happened, with the source line highlighted on the PDF beside it.
- Row-by-row running balance
- Opening balance + movement = closing balance
- Page subtotals
- Printed credit and debit totals
- Transaction count
Arithmetic only: it verifies amounts, balances and totals, not descriptions or dates, and two errors that cancel out would pass. That is what the source-line link is for.

Eight formats, one upload
Convert bank statements to the file your software accepts
Most converters stop at Excel, CSV and QBO. That leaves Quicken, QuickBooks Desktop and Tally users with nothing that imports. Every plan above Free exports the formats below, with IIF and Tally XML on Professional and Business.
Built for real statements
Scans, credit cards and a year of statements at once
Batch upload
Drop a year of digital statements at once for catch-up bookkeeping, instead of converting them one by one.
Accounting software
Import bank statements into QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or Tally
Each package wants something different: QuickBooks Online takes QBO or CSV, QuickBooks Desktop takes QBO or IIF, Xero prefers OFX, Tally needs XML vouchers. Pick your software and we will tell you which file to use and how to import it.
Banks
Statements from your bank, no templates to wait for
The converter reads the layout of the statement in front of it rather than relying on a template per bank. Guides for the most common banks cover how to download statements and what their exports leave out.

FAQ
Bank statement conversion, answered
Still deciding? Most questions about formats, QuickBooks imports and security are answered here.
Ask us something elseWhat is a bank statement converter?
A bank statement converter reads the transactions out of a PDF statement and writes them into a file your software can import: Excel or CSV for spreadsheets, QBO or IIF for QuickBooks, QFX for Quicken, OFX for Xero and MYOB, and Tally XML for Tally. VouchRow also checks every row against the running balance printed on the statement, so a misread figure is caught before it reaches your books.
How do I convert a PDF bank statement to Excel?
Sign in, upload the PDF and review the rows. Each one shows whether it agrees with the balance on the statement, and clicking a row highlights the line it came from on the PDF. Then download Excel or CSV, or the format your accounting software imports.
Can I import a PDF bank statement into QuickBooks?
QuickBooks needs a transaction file rather than a PDF for most workflows. Convert the statement to QBO and upload it under Banking › Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or through Web Connect in QuickBooks Desktop. For Desktop versions that no longer accept QBO, the IIF export imports directly.
Does it work with scanned bank statements?
Yes. A scanned statement has no text layer, so its pages are read with OCR and then go through the same balance checks as a digital one. Scanned statements convert one at a time today; digital statements can be uploaded in a batch.
Can I convert credit card statements too?
Yes. Credit card statements from issuers such as American Express, Chase and Capital One convert to the same formats, including QBO for a QuickBooks credit card account.
How do I get bank statements into Tally Prime?
Export Tally XML. Each transaction becomes a voucher that Tally Prime or ERP 9 imports directly, and anything without a ledger posts to Suspense rather than somewhere plausible and wrong. Tally XML is on the Professional and Business plans.
Which banks are supported?
There are no per-bank templates to wait for. The converter reads the layout of the statement in front of it, and scans go through OCR. If a statement does not balance, you see the row where it breaks instead of a silent error.
Is my financial data secure?
Digital statements are read in your browser. Scanned pages, and layouts the browser cannot parse, are sent to our processing layer over TLS for one request and then discarded. Your statements are never used to train any model, and you choose how long converted files are kept, down to not at all.
What counts as a page?
Only pages that contain at least one transaction. Cover pages, terms and conditions and blank backs are not counted. If a month runs over your plan, page packs add more from $0.06 a page, and pack pages never expire.
How much does the bank statement converter cost?
Plans start at $15 a month for 300 pages. Professional starts at $39 for 900 pages and adds IIF and Tally XML; Business starts at $99 for 2,500 pages. Each plan slides up to more pages a month. Annual billing gives you two months free, and only pages with transactions are counted.
Why not just paste the statement into ChatGPT?
A chatbot can read a PDF, but nothing checks what it returns. On long statements rows go missing and digits change, and the totals still look plausible. A converter that checks every row against the printed running balance tells you when that has happened, and which row it was.
What does the balance check not catch?
It verifies arithmetic: amounts, balances and totals. It does not verify descriptions or dates, and two errors that cancel each other out would pass. That is why every row also links to its source line, so a quick visual check covers the rest.
Stop retyping bank statements. Start checking them.
Eight export formats, a running-balance check on every row, and pages counted only when they hold transactions.
