What MoneyThumb does better

Purpose-built tools for lending

They have specific products for cash-flow analysis, scorecards and fraud signals, aimed at underwriters rather than bookkeepers. If that is the job, a tool designed around it beats a general converter.

Established, SOC 2, and trusted where it counts

They have been in this market a long time, publish SOC 2 Type II, and are known within lending in particular, where a tool often has to be justified to a compliance function. A vendor with years of history behind it is easier to defend in that conversation than a new one. We cannot match it and will not pretend the consideration is unimportant.

Per-statement pricing suits long statements

Their unit is one account on one monthly statement, whatever its length, and unused conversions roll over. For long statements converted occasionally, paying per statement can cost less than paying per page.

Where we differ

Per page, not per statement

Their Online Individual plan is $24.95 a month for five statement conversions — about $5 each. At $0.05 a page, a five-page statement costs us $0.25 to convert, and only pages carrying transactions are counted.

Accounting first

Their homepage, pricing page and new products now lead with lending. This product is built for the person getting statements into QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage or Tally — IIF and Tally XML included, which their online converters do not publish.

Every row checked and linked to its source

Their converters compare transaction totals against the statement’s summary. Here the running balance is checked on every row, and every row links to the highlighted line on the PDF, so a problem is found at the row rather than in the total.

The thing we cannot offer

We are new. DocuClipper, MoneyThumb and ProperSoft have been doing this for years and have the reviews to show for it; we do not. What we can offer instead of a track record is a product that checks its own work in the open — every row tested against the statement’s balance, the source line one click away — and that tells you when it is unsure rather than presenting every conversion as finished.

FAQ

VouchRow vs MoneyThumb: questions

How much does MoneyThumb cost?

MoneyThumb Online is published at $24.95 a month for 5 statement conversions, $49.95 for 20 and $99.95 for 60, with yearly plans from $199.95. Their lender products are priced separately, as read in October 2026.

Which is cheaper?

It depends entirely on your statements. Per-statement pricing favours long statements converted rarely; per-page favours short ones converted often. Work it out on a month of your own files rather than on a headline rate.

Do you do income verification or fraud detection for lenders?

No. We convert and reconcile statements; the analysis is yours to do. If you need the analysis built in, they are the more direct answer today.

Is there a MoneyThumb alternative that works on a Mac?

This one runs in the browser, so it works on Mac, Windows or anything else with a modern browser, with nothing to install.

How this page was researched

Everything here about other tools was read from their own public pricing, product and help pages in October 2026. We did not create accounts, so nothing on this page claims anything about their accuracy, their output quality or their support — only about what they publish. Prices change; check theirs before deciding.
