The short answer
Can you export a SoFi bank statement to Excel?
Yes, for Checking and Savings SoFi does it directly. On SoFi.com, open the Banking tab and choose Export in the Activity section; in the app, go to Banking, the gear icon, Statements and Documents, then Export Transactions. Pick the account and the dates and SoFi produces a CSV that opens in Excel. Each export can span up to two years, and transactions are available back to the date the account was opened.
The monthly statement is the other record. SoFi generally makes it available within the first 5 business days of each month, as a PDF you download by month and year from Statements on the Banking homepage. SoFi does not mail Checking and Savings statements. Convert the statement when the rows have to match it exactly (a lender’s or court’s request, a client who sent PDFs), or when you need a format SoFi does not export.
That last point matters for bookkeeping: SoFi’s help pages describe CSV only, with no QBO, QFX or other accounting format. A converted statement exports QBO for QuickBooks and QFX for Quicken, with every row’s balance checked against the statement.
Rows run newest first, and the balance only works read upwards

What SoFi lets you export
SoFi’s CSV covers Checking and Savings well. The statement is for exact figures, the credit card and accounting formats.
Export Transactions
To account opening, 2 years per export
Checking and Savings transactions for the account and dates you choose, from SoFi.com or the app.
Where it stops: CSV only, and the dates you pick will not carry the statement’s balances or interest figures.
Statements
Not published
One PDF per month with Checking and Savings sections, balances, interest figures and Transaction Details with a balance per row.
Where it stops: A PDF only. Getting the rows into QuickBooks or Quicken means converting it.
Converting the statement with VouchRow
Any statement you have
The PDF becomes rows in the format your software takes, every balance checked, with each row linked to its line.
Where it stops: Needs the statement PDF. A month you never saved has to come from SoFi first.
How far back
How far back each SoFi option reaches
SoFi’s export reaches the whole account history, two years at a time. It does not publish how long statements stay online.
Export Transactions (CSV)
2 years per export
Each export spans up to two years; transactions are available back to the date the account was opened, so older years take more than one export.
Checking and Savings statements (PDF)
Not published
Listed by month and year under Statements. SoFi does not say how many years it keeps.
SoFi Credit Card statements (PDF)
Not published
On the Credit Card account page under Statements or Documents. No retention figure published.
A dashed bar means the bank does not publish a figure; check your own online banking.
Step by step
How to convert a SoFi bank statement
- 1Download the statements from SoFiLog in, and on the Banking homepage choose Statements, then the month and year. In the app, the Banking tab’s gear icon leads to Statements and Documents. SoFi Credit Card statements are on the Credit Card account page.
- 2Decide which accounts you needA SoFi statement holds Checking and Savings in separate sections. Convert both, then keep each account’s rows in its own file or account in your books.
- 3Upload and convertSign in to VouchRow and add the PDFs. Digital statements convert in batches. A scanned or printed copy is read with OCR, one at a time. A password-protected PDF is unlocked in your browser; the password is never sent.
- 4Check every balanceEach row’s Balance, the beginning and current balance and the transaction count are checked. If a figure is off, VouchRow shows the dollar difference, and clicking any row shows its line on the PDF.
- 5ExportExcel or CSV to review, QBO for QuickBooks, QFX or QIF for Quicken, or the Xero CSV preset.

Where is your SoFi data going?
Pick the destination. The advice changes with it.
SoFi bank statement to Excel
An .xlsx with one row per transaction: date, type, description and a signed amount, money in positive and money out negative, with SoFi’s balance alongside. The statement lists rows newest first; sort by date if you want the oldest at the top.
If you only need Checking and Savings activity in a spreadsheet, SoFi’s own CSV export does that. Convert the PDF when the sheet has to match the statement or you need the credit card.
PDF to ExcelSoFi bank statement to CSV
CSV is for when another tool reads the file. Choose the date format the importer expects before you export; SoFi prints month names (“Sep 22, 2026”), which many importers reject.
Keep Checking and Savings rows apart, one file or account each, so each imports into its own account.
PDF to CSVSoFi bank statement to QuickBooks
Export QBO and import it into the matching bank account in QuickBooks (in QuickBooks Online, upload from file under bank transactions; in Desktop, as Web Connect). SoFi’s own export has no QuickBooks format.
Each row carries a transaction ID, so a converted month that overlaps one already imported from a CSV or a bank connection is recognised. The SoFi Credit Card goes into a credit card account, with charges as charges and payments as credits.
PDF to QBOSoFi bank statement to Quicken
Convert to QFX and import into the existing SoFi account in Quicken, so the history joins the account you already track.
QIF also works, but it has no transaction IDs, so a month imported twice duplicates. Prefer QFX.
PDF to QFXSoFi bank statement to Xero
Use the Xero CSV preset: one signed amount column and the date format Xero expects, which avoids the month-name dates SoFi prints. Import Checking and Savings into separate bank accounts in Xero.
Transfers between them then reconcile against each other as transfers.

Why it works
Built around how SoFi prints a statement
A balance on every row
SoFi prints a Balance beside each amount. Each one is checked, so a misread digit shows up on the row where it happened.
Newest first, explained
SoFi lists rows from the most recent down, so each balance is the row below plus that row’s amount. Balances that look wrong top to bottom are right read upwards.
Checking and Savings apart
Each account has its own section, beginning balance and current balance. Kept apart, transfers to savings are a transfer, not spending.
Interest as rows, rates as detail
Interest earned is a transaction. The interest rate, APY earned and year-to-date interest in the account box are detail and stay out of the rows.
Every row traced to its line
Click a row and the PDF opens at the line it came from, Transaction ID included.
QuickBooks and Quicken files
SoFi’s export stops at CSV. Converted statements export QBO and QFX with a transaction ID per row, so a re-import does not duplicate.
Checked before export
A misread digit is caught on its own row
Every conversion is tested against the statement: the running balance on every row, page subtotals, opening plus movement against closing, the printed credit and debit totals, and the transaction count. When a number does not add up, VouchRow names the row and highlights the line it came from on the PDF.
Arithmetic only: it verifies amounts, balances and totals, not descriptions or dates, and two errors that cancel out would pass. The source-line link covers the rest.

Layout
How a SoFi Checking and Savings statement is laid out
SoFi does not publish a sample statement, so this is how recent SoFi Checking and Savings statements print; compare it with yours. The top of page one gives the primary account holder, “Member since” date, account number and the Monthly Statement Period, which runs from the first to the last day of the calendar month.
Each account then has a box headed with its name and last four digits (“Checking Account - 7314”) giving the Current Balance, Beginning Balance, Current Interest Rate, Annual Percentage Yield Earned, Monthly Interest Paid and Year-to-date Interest Paid. These are balances and rates, not transactions.
Transaction Details follow, with the note that “balances below are the total funds resulting from the transaction(s) posted on that day”, and five columns: Date, Type, Description, Amount and Balance. Dates print as “Sep 22, 2026”, Type names the kind of transaction (Direct Deposit, Debit Card, Bill Pay, Direct Payment, Withdrawal, Interest Earned), and a Transaction ID is printed under each description. Rows run newest first.
Export or statement
SoFi’s CSV export vs the statement: which one to use
For your own bookkeeping, SoFi’s CSV export is often enough. It reaches back to the day the account opened, up to two years per export, and you choose the dates, so a few exports cover the whole history. If a spreadsheet is all you need, use it.
The statement is the better source when its exact figures are the point: a lender verifying assets, a court in a divorce, an auditor, or a bookkeeper working from PDFs a client sent. A date range you exported yourself will not carry the statement’s beginning and ending balances or interest figures. The statement is also the route to QuickBooks or Quicken, because SoFi’s help pages describe no QBO, QFX or Web Connect file.
Savings and Vaults
Transfers, Vaults and interest
Money moved from Checking to Savings appears twice in one statement: as a withdrawal in the Checking section and as a deposit in the Savings section. Converted as two accounts, the pair reconciles as a transfer. Converted as one, it is counted twice.
SoFi Vaults are compartments of your Savings account, not separate accounts. SoFi’s statement notes say interest accrues at the same rate on all savings funds, including Vaults, and that interest is paid on the last day of the statement period. For the books, treat Savings and its Vaults as one account.
SoFi Credit Card
SoFi Credit Card statements
The SoFi Credit Card is issued by SoFi Bank, N.A., under license from Mastercard. Its transaction history and past statements are in the Credit Card section of your SoFi account, on the web or in the app, with the full monthly statement as a PDF under Statements or Documents. SoFi’s CSV export help covers Checking and Savings and does not mention the card.
A converted card statement is checked against its summary totals and exported the cardholder’s way: purchases, fees and interest negative, payments and credits positive, which is what QuickBooks, Quicken and Xero expect for a credit card account.
Troubleshooting
Common SoFi statement conversion problems
Most SoFi errors come from row order and from two accounts in one PDF.
- Every balance looks wrong: the rows were read oldest first. SoFi prints them newest first; each balance is the row below plus that row’s amount.
- Transfers to savings counted twice: Checking and Savings were converted as one account.
- Interest rates or APY showing as rows: the account box was read as transactions. Only Interest Earned is a row.
- Transaction IDs in the amount column: the ID printed under the description was read as a number. It belongs with the description.
- Export stops partway: each SoFi CSV export can span at most two years. Run another for the earlier period.
- No statement in the first days of the month: SoFi generally makes it available within the first 5 business days.
