Alternatives to MoneyThumb

Five tools convert PDF bank statements into something your accounting software will take. They are priced on different axes and built for different people, so the useful question is not which is best — it is which one matches why you are leaving.

Start here

First, why are you looking?

MoneyThumb is long-established conversion tools billed per statement rather than per page, now focused on lenders — bank statement analysis and fraud detection — with accounting converters sold as MoneyThumb Online. The reason people move off it is usually one of three, and each points somewhere different.

Price

Compare per page at your real volume, not per month. Tools in this category price on different axes and the headline numbers are not comparable.

A format they do not export

QFX for Quicken, IIF for QuickBooks Desktop, QIF, OFX or Tally XML. Several tools here publish only CSV, Excel and QBO, and no amount of accuracy helps if the file will not import.

Trusting the output

Extraction is imperfect everywhere. What differs is what happens next — whether a tool checks its own work against the statement’s balances and shows you which row failed, or hands you a spreadsheet and wishes you luck.

The field

The other options

Including the ones that compete with us. If one of these fits you better, it is better for you to find that out here than after a month of paying us.

DocuClipper

The established leader in bank statement conversion, and now a broad financial-document platform — invoices, receipts, tax forms, analysis and integrations — priced per page at the top of the market.

Suits you if: Choose DocuClipper if you need several users in one workspace, an API, direct sync into your ledger, SOC 2, or bulk processing of scanned statements — or if buying from an established vendor with years of public reviews matters more to you than price.

How we compare with DocuClipper

Documentric

The closest competitor to what we are building — a newer cloud converter positioned as the cheaper DocuClipper, with QBO, CSV and Excel exports and a growing set of bank pages.

Suits you if: Choose Documentric if your bank is covered by one of their pages and not by ours, or if CSV, Excel and QBO are the only formats you will ever need.

ProperSoft

Long-established desktop conversion software, now one app — ProperConvert for Windows and Mac — sold as a flat subscription with unlimited pages.

Suits you if: Choose ProperSoft if your policy requires that files never leave the machine, or if you convert enough pages that a flat unlimited price is cheaper than paying per page.

bank-statements.co

An Australian cloud converter with broad international bank pages, credit-based plans and a REST API, exporting Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX and QIF.

Suits you if: Choose bank-statements.co if you are integrating statement conversion into software you are building, convert at very high volume, or your banks are outside the majors and they cover yours.

Where we fit

Where VouchRow fits instead of MoneyThumb

Choose us if you are doing bookkeeping or accounts rather than underwriting, convert regularly, need IIF or Tally XML, or want each row checked against the statement before you rely on it.

Per page, not per statement

Their Online Individual plan is $24.95 a month for five statement conversions — about $5 each. At $0.05 a page, a five-page statement costs us $0.25 to convert, and only pages carrying transactions are counted.

Accounting first

Their homepage, pricing page and new products now lead with lending. This product is built for the person getting statements into QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage or Tally — IIF and Tally XML included, which their online converters do not publish.

Every row checked and linked to its source

Their converters compare transaction totals against the statement’s summary. Here the running balance is checked on every row, and every row links to the highlighted line on the PDF, so a problem is found at the row rather than in the total.

We are new. DocuClipper, MoneyThumb and ProperSoft have been doing this for years and have the reviews to show for it; we do not. What we can offer instead of a track record is a product that checks its own work in the open — every row tested against the statement’s balance, the source line one click away — and that tells you when it is unsure rather than presenting every conversion as finished.

How this page was researched

Everything here about other tools was read from their own public pricing, product and help pages in October 2026. We did not create accounts, so nothing on this page claims anything about their accuracy, their output quality or their support — only about what they publish. Prices change; check theirs before deciding.

Leaving MoneyThumb? Check every row instead.

Eight export formats and a running-balance check on every row.
