Regions personal, small business and business checking
Convert a Regions bank statement to Excel, CSV or QuickBooks
Regions downloads up to 18 months of transactions and keeps about seven years of statements. Convert the statement PDFs to get any of those years into Excel, CSV or QuickBooks, checked against the totals Regions prints.
- Seven years of statements, not 18 months of history
- FEES section kept as rows
- SUMMARY and Daily Balance Summary used as proof

The short answer
Can you export a Regions bank statement to Excel?
Regions lets you download recent transactions from online banking into personal finance software, but its transaction history starts at the most recent 90 days when you enroll and builds up to 18 months. Anything older, and anything that has to match a statement exactly, comes from the statement PDF, and converting it gives you the same Excel, CSV or QuickBooks file.
Regions keeps statements much longer than it keeps history: while you are enrolled in Online Statements you can view, save or print up to seven years of them, and all of them are available as soon as you enroll. Regions credit card statements are also available for seven years in online banking and the app.
A Regions checking statement has no running balance on the rows. Each month is checked against the SUMMARY instead (beginning balance, plus deposits and credits, minus withdrawals, fees and checks, equals the ending balance), and against each date in the DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY.
Fees are a section of their own, and the SUMMARY counts them separately

What Regions lets you export
Each route covers a different stretch of time. Converting the statement is for everything the download does not reach.
Download Transactions in online banking
Up to 18 months
A Web Connect file for the personal finance software you choose in Select a Format, for the date range you set. No charge for QuickBooks Web Connect.
Where it stops: Nothing older than the 18-month history, and Regions does not list a CSV or Excel option for account activity.
Online Statements & Documents
Up to 7 years
One PDF per statement, with the SUMMARY, every section, the DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY and the check images at the end.
Where it stops: A PDF only. Getting the rows into Excel or QuickBooks means converting it.
Converting the statement with VouchRow
Any statement you have
The PDF becomes rows in the format your software takes, checked against the SUMMARY, the section totals and the daily balances, with every row linked to its line.
Where it stops: Needs the statement PDF. A month you never saved has to come from Regions first.
How far back
How far back each Regions option reaches
Regions keeps statements more than four times as long as it keeps downloadable history.
Download Transactions (Web Connect)
Up to 18 months
Regions says 90 days of history are available at enrollment, building up to 18 months.
Check images
18 months
Front and back images of checks from the past 18 months can be viewed and printed online.
Online Statements (PDF)
Up to 7 years
Available while you are enrolled in Online Statements. Every cycle, exactly as Regions issued it.

Step by step
How to convert a Regions bank statement
- 1Save the statements from RegionsIn Regions online banking, open the Accounts menu and choose Online Statements, which opens Online Statements & Documents; each statement downloads as a PDF. In the Regions app, use View statements & documents and filter by document type and year.
- 2One account per batchKeep each checking, savings or business account’s statements together, so each converted set lands in the right account in your software.
- 3Upload and convertSign in to VouchRow and add the PDFs. Digital statements convert in batches. A scanned paper statement is read with OCR, one at a time. A password-protected PDF is unlocked in your browser; the password is never sent.
- 4Check each month against the SUMMARYDeposits, withdrawals and fees must each match their total line, and the month must close at the Ending Balance. If not, VouchRow shows the difference, and clicking any row shows its line on the PDF.
- 5ExportExcel or CSV to review, QBO for QuickBooks, QFX or QIF for Quicken, or the Xero CSV preset.

Regions bank statement to Excel
An .xlsx with one row per deposit, withdrawal and fee: date, description and a signed amount, with money in positive and money out negative. The FEES rows are included, so the column sums to the change in balance shown in the SUMMARY.
For several years of statements, convert them in one batch and sort by date; each month starts where the last one ended, which is easy to show against the DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY.
PDF to ExcelRegions bank statement to CSV
CSV is for another tool to read: a budgeting app, a script or an import screen. Choose the date format the importer expects before exporting.
Regions does not list CSV among its account download options, and its history stops at 18 months. A converted CSV covers whichever statements you upload, with the same columns every month.
PDF to CSVRegions bank statement to QuickBooks
Export QBO and import it into the bank account in QuickBooks (in QuickBooks Online, upload from file under bank transactions; in Desktop, as a Web Connect file). This is the same kind of file as Regions’ own Web Connect download, so older months land the same way without a Direct Connect fee.
Each row carries a transaction ID, so where a converted month overlaps a downloaded one, QuickBooks recognises the repeats. Fees arrive as their own withdrawals, ready to code to bank charges.
PDF to QBORegions bank statement to Quicken
QFX is Quicken’s Web Connect format. Import it into the existing Regions account so the older history joins the account you already have.
QIF also works, but it has no transaction IDs, so a month imported twice will duplicate. Prefer QFX when the account already holds downloaded months.
PDF to QFXRegions bank statement to Xero
Use the Xero CSV preset: one signed amount column and the date format Xero expects. Import it into the matching bank account in Xero, then reconcile as usual.
Regions descriptions are kept as printed, so bank rules in Xero can match recurring payees month after month.

| Running balance | None on the rows. A DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY gives the balance for each date |
| Sections | SUMMARY, DEPOSITS & CREDITS, WITHDRAWALS, FEES, then DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY; checks are listed by number when there are any |
| Amount columns | One unsigned amount per row; the section decides the sign |
| Totals | Each section ends with its own total line (Total Deposits & Credits, Total Withdrawals, Total Fees) |
Why it works
Built around how Regions prints a statement
Seven years, not 18 months
Regions’ download stops where its 18-month history stops. Its statements go back about seven years, and every one converts the same way.
Fees kept as rows
The FEES section is read as money out, with its own Total Fees check, so monthly and analysis charges reach the books.
SUMMARY as proof
Beginning Balance, Deposits & Credits, Withdrawals, Fees, Automatic Transfers, Checks and Ending Balance are the month’s totals, not transactions.
Daily balances checked
The DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY is used to confirm the running total at each date and is kept out of the rows.
The right year on every row
Rows print MM/DD. The year comes from the statement period, which Regions prints in words at the top of the statement.
Every row traced to its line
Click a row and the PDF opens at the line it came from, which matters when a descriptor needs explaining.
Checked before export
A misread digit is caught on its own row
Every conversion is tested against the statement: the running balance on every row, page subtotals, opening plus movement against closing, the printed credit and debit totals, and the transaction count. When a number does not add up, VouchRow names the row and highlights the line it came from on the PDF.
Arithmetic only: it verifies amounts, balances and totals, not descriptions or dates, and two errors that cancel out would pass. The source-line link covers the rest.

Layout
What a Regions bank statement looks like
The first page gives the branch, the account number, the Cycle and the number of Enclosures, then the product name (for example LIFEGREEN CHECKING) and the period, written out as “September 1, 2026 through September 30, 2026”. The SUMMARY follows: Beginning Balance, Deposits & Credits, Withdrawals, Fees, Automatic Transfers, Checks and Ending Balance, with Minimum Balance and Average Balance alongside.
The activity sections come next in capitals: DEPOSITS & CREDITS, WITHDRAWALS and FEES, each with a date (MM/DD), a description and an amount, and each closed by its own total line. Amounts carry no sign; the section heading says which way the money moved. Checks, when there are any, are listed by number, and the legend on the back marks a break in the number sequence with an asterisk.
The DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY closes the activity: date and balance pairs printed in three columns, continued onto the next page when the month is busy. The back page carries “Easy Steps to Balance Your Account”, the error-resolution notice and the legend of abbreviations.
Statement codes
The abbreviations on a Regions statement
The legend printed on Regions statements explains the short codes used in descriptions: ADJ (Adjustment), RI (Return Item), CR (Credit), SC (Service Charge), OD (Overdrawn), EB (Electronic Banking), NSF (Nonsufficient Funds), APY (Annual Percentage Yield) and FWT (Federal Withholding Tax), plus the asterisk for a break in the check number sequence.
Other short codes appear inside merchant descriptions, such as the “TEN TB” or “GEO TB” people search for. Those are not in the statement legend, and Regions does not publish their meaning, so ask Regions about any specific line. Converted rows keep the description exactly as printed, and clicking the row shows it on the statement.
QuickBooks and Quicken
Regions with QuickBooks and Quicken
Regions offers two connection types. Web Connect is a file you download from online banking: select Download Transactions next to the pending activity, choose your software in Select a Format and set the date range. Regions says there is no charge to use QuickBooks with Web Connect. Direct Connect links QuickBooks to the bank; it has no charge for the first 90 days, then $14.95 or $19.95 a month depending on the account type, and QuickBooks for Mac works with Web Connect only. Quicken with Regions has no monthly or setup fee on the personal pricing schedule.
Either way, the history behind it is the 18 months Regions holds. For earlier months, convert the statements to QBO or QFX and import them into the same account. Each converted row carries a transaction ID, so a month that overlaps a Web Connect download is recognised rather than doubled.
Business and cards
Regions business statements, iTreasury and credit cards
Small business checking uses the same SUMMARY, DEPOSITS & CREDITS, WITHDRAWALS, FEES and DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY layout. On analyzed accounts the FEES section carries the analysis charge for the previous month (for example “Analysis Charge 08-22” on a September statement), so the fee in the books belongs to the month before the statement it appears on.
Commercial clients on Regions iTreasury export from the Reporting menu (Download, then Export), choosing QuickBooks or Quicken OFX format and the dates and accounts. Regions does not publish an iTreasury statement archive length; check with your treasury contact. Regions credit card statements have no running balance: they are checked against their summary totals, and in the export charges, fees and interest are negative and payments and refunds positive.
Troubleshooting
Common Regions conversion problems
Most Regions errors come from the summary block and the separate FEES section.
- The month is short by a few dollars: the FEES section was skipped. Monthly and paper statement fees are money out too.
- Two odd rows at the top every month: Minimum Balance and Average Balance from the SUMMARY were read as transactions.
- Every withdrawal shows as money in: amounts are unsigned, and the section heading was not carried onto the rows.
- A page of extra rows at the end: the DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY, or its continued part on the next page, was imported as activity.
- Download stops 18 months back: that is Regions’ transaction history limit. Older months are in the seven years of statements.
- Rows in the wrong year on a statement read without its header: the period is printed in words, and the year comes from it.
